Minimal Wave celebrates its 20th anniversary on May 17th at Good Room in Brooklyn. Founded in 2005, the label has spent two decades unearthing and releasing over 80 albums of under-recognized electronic music from the 1970s–1990s. This event marks the first in a series of parties honoring that legacy.

For this special occasion, the legendary Greek duo In Trance 95 will perform their first-ever live set in the U.S., celebrating the release of their The Move EP, out May 27th on Minimal Wave. Advance copies will be available at the event. Also performing live is An-i, the Berlin-based Cititrax artist known for his analog-driven, body-shaking sets, pulling from his fierce trilogy of Cititrax EPs: Kino-i, Gutz, and Rabble.

Minimal Wave founder Veronica Vasicka will open the night with a vinyl DJ set showcasing early Minimal Wave releases, tracing the label’s origins and influences. She’ll then go b2b with the brilliant Sharlese, digging deep into obscure cuts and dancefloor gems from both the Minimal Wave and Cititrax catalogs, along with other hidden treasures.

In the Bad Room, we’re thrilled to have Liz Wendelbo (of Xeno & Oaklander) and Layne (Rachel Aiello) DJing all night long—expect dancey coldwave, synth-pop, industrial, and more.
